![]() ![]() If I stretch wrong I can feel a weird pressure in my ear, same if I touch and/or massage my face, neck, or scalp around my ear. First doctor just kept prescribing different types of antibiotics, second doctor says TMJ.it's not TMJ. Just the slightest touch on the right side of my face, outer ear, neck can literally send me to my knees when it's hurting. My range of motion in my neck and jaw is limited when pain is present. Now the pain is overwhelming and alot more frequent, feels like someone is stabbing deep down in my ear, and sometime can last for days. In the beginning the pain was slight and only lasted for about an hour, flare ups were few and far between. Same problem here, been going on for about 4 years for me, slowly increasing in severity of pain and the duration of the pain. Best wishes, and if it works please share your report back here for the sake of everyone else! I hope this helps anyone, because i know what you are going through and it is horrible. And try moving your cell phone away from you if you sleep next to it at night. Your mouth is right next to your ear, so maybe it can be the cause. :) I'd recommend anyone with this ear pain to visit a dentist, identify any needed work, and get it done. I don't want to move the phone next to my bed to test because i don't want to jinx myself. From 2 feet away from my head, my cell is now 15ft across the room on my dresser. The only other thing i did during this period was removed my cell phone from my nightstand right next to my bed. At first i didn't see the connection, but the timing of the procedure coincides exactly with the improvement. And right away the pain began gradually disappearing, over a period of a 6-8 weeks the pain has now completely gone away. I had needed a root canal on one side of my mouth and a filling done on an old cavity on the other. Recently the pain has completely gone away, and i think it was a result of the following. I resolved to just sleeping on my back with my head straight. I purchased pillows with holes in them, read through this very blog and couldn't find any solutions. When laying on my ear, as i'd lift my head the pain would shoot to intolerable levels. Every night if i were to lay on the side of my head I'd end up with excruciating pain. (I dont have insurance right now b/c we are looking for the right maternity insurance, and it has taken longer than we expected) Thank you so much for your help in advance, I really really appreciate it! :)ĬURED: Hi so I've had severe ear pain for the last couple years. Also I have not experienced any hearing loss on that side that I know of. to get it looked at, but how severe do you think it is? Am I at a big risk for something serious that I have never heard about? The fact I cant find any info on it is what scares me the most. Im actually wondering if I might have a growth or polyp (spelling?) or something in there! I know I need to get to a Dr. I know it is not an ear infection or swimmers ear etc. It only hurts when i have laid on it for about 30 mins. I have never heard of anyone having any type of problems like this before so that worries me a little. I was hoping it would just go away with time, but no such luck. I usually have to use my hands to get my head turned over to the other side becasuse the pain is so severe. I am in between insurances right now, and for some time now I have noticed that when i sleep on my left side I wake up w/ very bad pain in the middle to inner ear. ![]()
